The Bučina lookout tower sits just below the summit of Bučina hill (585 m) and offers a rewarding view over the Ohře valley and the Karlovy Vary area. It's a small tower with a big story, built by Jindřich Mattoni himself back in the 1880s, making it a nice stop for anyone who enjoys mixing history with a hike.

After the Second World War, the surrounding forest grew wild and gradually blocked the view, but restoration work in 2003 and further tree clearing in 2016 brought the panorama back to life. The tower now has repaired masonry, walkways and a new roof, plus wooden sculptures and a seating area nearby added after 2016. The forest setting makes it a pleasant destination in every season - shady in summer, colourful in autumn, and quietly snow-covered in winter.

• From the former Kyselka spa - follow the red KČT trail, about 1.5 km, easy walk along a forest road
• A yellow marked trail also leads to the tower

• Free access year-round, no entrance fee
• Wooden sculptures and a rest area are set up next to the tower

From the top you can spot Kyselka and Karlovy Vary along with the nearby lookout towers Diana and Aberg, plus the Klínovec summit in the distance - a great excuse to plan your next hikes in the region.
