Plešivec (1,030 m a.s.l.) is one of the most rewarding summits in the Ore Mountains — a steep-sided nephelinite dome rising just two kilometres south-east of Abertamy, with a historic stone lookout tower, a hotel, and a whole leisure complex waiting for you at the top. Whether you come for the views, the forest trails, or a meal at the summit restaurant, this peak delivers.

The slopes are covered in dense spruce forest broken by scree fields, giving the mountain a rugged, slightly wild character even in midsummer. In winter the area transforms into a local ski resort with several lifts and downhill runs. From the lookout tower — standing here since 1895 — you can take in a sweeping panorama across the Ore Mountains ridges, the Doupov Hills, the Slavkov Forest, Dyleň, and the Cheb Basin. Clear autumn days offer some of the best visibility.

• A road from Abertamy leads directly to the summit (alongside cycling route No. 2002) — you can also drive up.
• Hotel Plešivec with a restaurant operates at the top.
• The Plešivec Resort, open since 2010, includes a rope park and scooter rental.
• Mountain bike trails (MTB) have been available since 2020, served by cable lifts.
• The stone lookout tower is publicly accessible.

The 16-metre stone tower was built in just four months in 1895 — construction materials were hauled up the mountain on sledges during the preceding winter. Over 125 years later, it is still one of the finest viewpoints in the western Ore Mountains.
