Medzirozsutce is one of the most rewarding saddles in the Malá Fatra mountains — a wide, open pass at 1200 m where you can take in both Rozsutec peaks at a single glance. It sits at the heart of the mountain range's trail network, making it a natural meeting point for hikers coming from all directions.

The pass separates the grand massif of Veľký Rozsutec (Great Rozsutec) to the south from Malý Rozsutec (Little Rozsutec) to the north. The saddle is covered with broad mountain meadows rich in wildflowers and herbs, though grazing has ceased and bilberry shrubs and spruce clusters are gradually reclaiming the open ground. In summer it feels bright and airy with sweeping views; in autumn the bilberry turns vivid shades of red and orange, creating a stunning natural tapestry. The eastern slopes drain towards the Biela stream valley, while the western side drops into the scenic Tesná rizňa gorge and the famous Diery ravines.

• A natural water spring is located about 100 m from the saddle on the western side — very handy on longer hikes.
• The pass lies within Malá Fatra National Park; please follow park regulations.
• Best light for photography: morning hours, when the rocky face of Veľký Rozsutec is lit from the east.

The two Rozsutec peaks framing the pass are widely considered the unofficial symbol of Malá Fatra — and standing at Medzirozsutce, with both summits rising above you, it is easy to see why.
