Hinter Grauspitz rises to 2,574 metres above sea level in the Rätikon range of the Eastern Alps, straddling the border between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. As one of the highest points in Liechtenstein, it's a rewarding destination for hikers seeking dramatic alpine ridgelines and cross-border views.

The surrounding landscape is classic Rätikon: rugged limestone ridges, steep rocky flanks and sweeping panoramas over neighbouring peaks and valleys. In summer the terrain is accessible to well-prepared hikers, while winter conditions demand mountaineering experience and proper equipment due to the exposed, high-alpine setting.

Note that this peak is sometimes confused with the nearby Schwarzhorn - according to specialist reference literature, these are considered two separate summits despite their proximity and similar height.

• Typical approach from the Vaduz or Malbun area (Liechtenstein) - a route requiring good fitness and mountain navigation skills
• An approach from the Swiss side via the Prätigau valley is also possible

The Rätikon range is one of the last places in the Alps where the international border runs directly along a ridge - standing on the summit, you could have one foot in Switzerland and the other in Liechtenstein.
