The Stanovice Reservoir is one of those hidden gems where forest and water blend into a peaceful landscape, perfect for escaping the bustle of nearby Karlovy Vary. Stretching 3 km through the valley of the Lomnický stream, its 142-hectare surface draws hikers, cyclists, and anglers looking for a quiet retreat.

The surrounding terrain is gently rolling and densely forested, with trails tracing the shoreline and opening up to fresh views of the water framed by wooded hills at every turn. In spring and summer, the area bursts with greenery and birdsong; autumn paints the forests in warm colors, while winter brings a stark, quiet beauty to the whole basin. It's a great spot for both a short stroll and a longer cycling loop around the water.
