Brestovská Cave is one of the most remarkable underground gems in the Orava region and the Western Tatras — a living, active fissure-river cave tucked away at 867 m above sea level near the village of Zuberec. Formed by the erosive power of Studený Stream and the slow seeping of rainwater through limestone, the cave stretches an estimated 1,450 m in length and continues to evolve to this day. The interior stays cool and humid year-round — a welcome escape on a hot summer day, while in winter it becomes a refuge for colonies of hibernating bats.
