Skorušina (1,314 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Skorušinské vrchy range in the Orava region of northern Slovakia — a forested, peaceful summit crowned with a 13-metre steel observation tower. The trails wind through dense forests along a main ridge running west to east, creating a lovely, sheltered atmosphere even on windier days. From the observation tower the view opens up dramatically: the Oravské Beskydy, the Western Tatras, and on a clear day you can spot the Chočské vrchy, the Fatras and the Oravská Magura. Autumn brings fiery colours to the forests, while winter turns the whole area into a quiet, snow-covered retreat.
