Anitino očko is a small, secluded mountain lake tucked away in a side basin of Bystrá Valley in the Western Tatras of Slovakia. Sitting at 1,854 metres above sea level, this quiet gem carries the kind of raw, untouched beauty that few places in the mountains can still offer.

The lake rests in a hollow known as Suchý zadok, at the foot of Nižná Bystrá. It measures 119 metres in length and 53 metres in width, with a maximum depth of 4.3 metres and a volume of 4,744 cubic metres. What makes it especially fascinating is that it has no surface inflow or outflow — the water is sustained entirely by precipitation and groundwater. In spring, its surface mirrors snow-capped ridges; in summer, it is embraced by alpine meadows; in autumn, the surrounding slopes glow in warm golden hues. The atmosphere here is one of profound stillness.
