Pfrondhorn is a striking, well-defined peak on the Walserkamm ridge, part of the Bregenzerwald mountain range. It offers a quiet alternative to busier summits in the area, rewarding hikers with a sense of solitude and sweeping views.

The mountain is covered in dense grass, heather and scattered fir trees, giving it a soft alpine character. On its northern slopes, at least five springs emerge, feeding the Ladritschbach stream. There's no summit cross here — just a survey marker, which adds to the peak's understated charm. Nearby rise the Seraspitz, Furkajoch, Serajöchle and Löffelspitze, forming an impressive mountain panorama in every direction.

• Furkajoch — via Serajöchle, about 40 minutes, 190 m elevation gain, moderate difficulty
• Sera Jöchle — via Seraspitz to Pfrondhorn, roughly 15 minutes longer than the direct route

• The nearest refreshment stops are the snack bar at Furkajoch and the Portlaalpe (1710 m), both open only in summer
• The trail requires sure-footedness and sturdy footwear — not suitable for young children
• In wet conditions, the upper section carries a risk of slipping and falling

Interestingly, this peak is sometimes confused with the nearby Seraspitz, which is occasionally also called Serenfalben — so it's worth double-checking the map before setting out.
