The New Chateau in Dalovice is an elegant neo-Renaissance mansion whose symmetrical facade, corner turrets and sweeping park immediately catch the eye. It's a place where architectural grace meets the tranquil charm of an old landscaped park full of monuments and centuries-old trees - a lovely stop on any visit to Karlovy Vary.
The chateau sits above an English-style landscape park established in 1882 on former pastures. In spring and summer the park bursts with greenery from old and even exotic tree species, while autumn brings golden hues around the memorial oaks. In winter, the sharp outlines of the turrets and mansard roof lend the site a moody, romantic atmosphere. Wandering the paths, you may stumble upon a stone atonement cross or the 1914 monument to poet Theodor Körner.
How to get thereFun fact: poet Theodor Körner visited Dalovice on Goethe's own recommendation and grew so fond of the park that it later became a place dedicated to his memory.
