Suchá priehyba is a mountain pass in the Western Tatras of Slovakia, sitting at 1,451 m above sea level. It is a wild, untouched saddle far removed from the busy tourist trails — a place where nature truly takes centre stage.

The pass lies along the western ridge of Ostrá, nestled between Ostrá peak (1,703 m) to the east and Suchý vrch (1,477 m) to the west. Its northern slopes descend into the Suchá dolina valley, while the southern flanks drop into the Pod Homôľkou valley, a side branch of Huňová dolina. The landscape is raw and rugged — no crowds, no facilities, just rocks, forest and silence. In spring and autumn, drifting mist between the ridges gives the place an almost mystical quality.

• Important note: the area lies within the Suchá dolina National Nature Reserve and is currently not accessible via marked hiking trails. Please check current entry regulations before planning a visit.

Interestingly, an unmarked hiking path once connected Suchá priehyba with the Predúvratie saddle — today that route is gone and the pass has been fully reclaimed by nature.
