Medziholie (1,185 m) is one of the most rewarding mountain passes in Slovakia's Malá Fatra range — a wide, grassy saddle poised between the rugged rocky massif of Veľký Rozsutec to the north and the shapely cone of Stoh to the south. If you love sweeping views and a true crossroads feel in the mountains, this is your place.

What makes Medziholie special is its rare 'junction pass' character — three ridges and three valleys converge here at once, offering views towards Nová dolina, the Biela stream valley, and the Bystrička valley simultaneously. The broad alpine meadows are rich in flora and feel wonderfully open under a blue summer sky, while autumn mists rolling in between the peaks give the saddle a moody, dramatic atmosphere. In winter, the snow-covered crags of Rozsutec loom impressively above.

The name 'Medziholie' translates roughly as 'place between the mountain pastures' — a reminder that until roughly the mid-interwar period this was a busy pastoral hub, and a mountain hut operated here from 1932 to 1985.
