Bublen is a wide, open mountain pass at 1510 m above sea level, sitting at the heart of the Krivánska Malá Fatra range in Slovakia. Alpine meadows stretch across the ridge, framed by rocky outcrops and dwarf pine, making this a wonderfully scenic resting spot. Whether you are tackling the full ridge traverse or just exploring, Bublen rewards you with a real sense of being on top of the world.

The pass sits roughly halfway between Veľký Kriváň and Malý Kriváň, at the point where the main ridge curves most noticeably northward. To the east rises Pekelník (1609 m) and to the west the rounded hump of Koniarky (1535 m). The terrain is open and airy — mountain grasslands cover the ridge, dotted here and there with clusters of dwarf pine or mountain ash, while small rocky outcrops peek through the turf. In summer the meadows are lush and green; in autumn they turn golden. In winter the northern slopes carry a real avalanche risk, so caution is strongly advised.
