Stratenec (1,513 m a.s.l.) is a quietly rewarding summit in the Kriváň part of Malá Fatra, Slovakia — not the most famous peak in the range, but one that offers genuine mountain atmosphere without the crowds. Sitting along the main ridge between Malý Kriváň and Biele skaly, it is a great destination for hikers who want to experience the real backbone of this beautiful Slovak massif.

The terrain around Stratenec is wonderfully varied. A short, rocky spur extends to the northwest, splitting the head of the Kúr valley into two branches — Kukurišova dolina to the north and Prostredná dolina to the south. The southeastern slopes descend into Súčianská dolina, while the northwestern flanks are protected within the Suchý National Nature Reserve. In summer the ridge walk offers fine views across Malá Fatra; in winter the terrain demands solid experience and proper equipment.
