Alexandrova rozhledna is a stone observation tower rising above the valley of Adamov in the Moravian Karst — a region where rocky ridges, ancient forests and a rich history come together beautifully. Reopened in 2009 after a major renovation that added eight metres to its original height, the tower has become one of the most distinctive landmarks in this part of the Moravian Switzerland area. It is a rewarding destination for hikers of all levels.

The viewing platform opens up a sweeping panorama, especially to the south: you can spot the town of Adamov below, a large portion of the city of Brno, and the distant Pálava Hills on the horizon. On exceptionally clear days — which occur only a handful of times each year — the peaks of the Alps are visible in the far distance. The surrounding forests look stunning in autumn colours, while spring brings fresh greenery to the valley. Note that tall trees have gradually closed the view to the north and partially towards the Svitava valley.

• Babice nad Svitavou — the tower stands within this village's cadastral area and can also be approached from that direction

• The tower is owned by the town of Adamov and is a key tourist attraction in the region
• Since 2014, the tower is illuminated at night — however, due to restrictions imposed by the Protected Landscape Area (CHKO) management, the lighting operates only outside daylight saving time
• A TV signal repeater for Adamov is installed on the tower

The tower was named after Alexander Suchánek, chairman of the Brno section of the Austrian Tourist Club, who championed its construction. First opened as far back as 4 September 1887, it has survived wars and decades of neglect to delight hikers once more.
