Mlýnský vrch is the highest hill of the Ścinawka Depression, a twin-summited elevation in the Central Sudetes that stands out from its surroundings thanks to its elongated, dome-like shape. It's a peaceful spot for those looking for an easy walk away from the crowds, set within the protected landscape area of Broumovsko.

The slopes vary in character — the northern and northeastern sides drop steeply toward the Ścinawka river valley, while the southern and southwestern slopes descend gently toward the village of Hejtmánkovice. The summit area is covered with meadows and farmland, while the lower slopes are cloaked in coniferous forest mixed with some deciduous trees. Its broad, flat summit and distinctive shape make it easy to recognize in the landscape. In spring and autumn, the surrounding meadows and fields give the area a calm, rural charm.

How to reach the summit

• Broumov or Meziměstí — red trail, easy route, runs along the southwestern slope below the summit

Practical information

• About 700 m from the summit, on the northwestern slope, lie the overgrown remains of three abandoned quarries
• At the foot of the eastern slope, along the Ścinawka river, traces of an old watermill can still be found
• The hill belongs to the Czech Sudetes Crown list of peaks

Fun fact: the land on which Mlýnský vrch rises once belonged to the Benedictine monastery of Broumov, adding a touch of history to this quiet hill.
