Kýčera (974 m) is a summit in the Kysucká vrchovina range, tucked into a remote and rarely visited corner above the vanished settlement of Riečnica. It's a place for hikers who want genuine solitude and untouched mountain scenery rather than crowded trails.

Much of the mountain is covered by patchy forest, but the summit itself is open, offering a full panoramic view. On clear days you can spot the surrounding hills of the range as well as Malá Fatra, Oravská Magura, the Oravské, Kysucké and Moravian-Silesian Beskids, and Javorníky - and on rare occasions even the ridge of the Low Tatras. The landscape here feels wild and secluded, perfect for those who enjoy off-the-beaten-path hiking.

• From Terchová via Vojenné - blue trail, moderate difficulty, requires good route-finding on the ridge
• From Kubínska hoľa via Javorinka - blue trail, alternative ridge approach
• Also accessible via the green trail from Zázrivá through Javorinka, or the yellow trail from Šípková (Terchová) through Kýčerka

• No marked trail leads directly to the summit - access is via forest roads and paths branching off the nearby ridge trail
• The peak lies within the Kysuce Protected Landscape Area

The lack of a marked summit trail is part of Kýčera's charm - it remains one of the wilder, less-trodden peaks of the range, rewarding those willing to venture off the main paths.
