Desenský vrch (908 m a.s.l.) rises above the Souš Reservoir in the southern Jizera Mountains, crowned by four rocky outcrops - the highest of which forms the true summit of the Desenský hřeben ridge. It's a quiet, granite-topped viewpoint that rewards hikers with a genuine sense of wilderness.

The surrounding landscape is classic Jizera Mountains terrain: dense coniferous forest, dominated by Norway spruce, with occasional beech trees breaking up the green. The bedrock is Jizera granite, and the soil is acidic and poor, covered in needles and forest litter, with clearings where bilberries grow. The climate here follows the typical temperate northern pattern - cool summers, snowy winters, and a peaceful, moody atmosphere in every season. Nearby you'll find the Tetřevka spring and the historic Protržená přehrada (a burst dam site), both worth a short detour.

How to reach the summit

• The summit can be reached via three marked trails starting near Bílá Desná and Černá Desná
• Routes are of moderate difficulty, suitable for reasonably fit hikers

• The peak lies within the Jizera Mountains Protected Landscape Area (CHKO), so nature protection rules apply
• Combine your hike with a visit to the nearby Protržená přehrada and the Tetřevka spring

The mountain's old German name, Wonners Kaspersbruch, is a reminder of the region's history before the post-war population changes.
