Veliká Ves Chateau is a modest Neo-Renaissance manor tucked away in the village of the same name, 14 km southeast of Kadaň. It's the kind of quiet, off-the-beaten-path stop that rewards travelers curious about the lesser-known corners of the Chomutov region.

The surrounding countryside is gently rolling farmland, with the chateau's working courtyard behind it and the remnants of a former park that once stretched toward a nearby pond. The two-story rectangular building, topped with an attic and a volute gable above the entrance, has a subtle charm even from the outside, since the interior isn't regularly open to visitors. In spring and summer the grounds are lush and green, autumn brings golden fields around the village, and in winter the whole place settles into a peaceful, almost forgotten stillness.
