Tucked away in the Kamienna river valley, this small museum in Szklarska Poręba is a surprising find for anyone interested in industrial history. Housed in an old hydroelectric power plant, it tells the story of electrification in this region since the early 20th century.

The building sits right next to national road no. 3, making it an easy stop while exploring the town. Inside, the atmosphere is raw and industrial - old meters, transformers and generators fill the rooms, while the hum of the still-operating power plant adds a unique living touch. It is a great indoor break from hiking, especially on a rainy day.

• Open to individual visitors on Saturdays during the summer holidays from 10:00 AM
• Organized groups must arrange visits in advance with the Association of Polish Electricians or Tauron Dystrybucja
• Since 1995, visitors can view the working hydroelectric plant from a special balcony, featuring two Francis turbines from 1922

Among the 600 exhibits stands a generator set from 1912, and the century-old turbines are still running today - a rare chance to see the history of energy production in motion, not just behind glass.
