The Kadaň Town Museum is not a single building but a whole network of historic sites scattered across town - from the Franciscan monastery to Kadaň Castle, the town hall tower and the Minorite bastion. It makes a great stop for hikers exploring the Czech Central Uplands who want to dive into the region's history.

The atmosphere here is layered and rich - walking through the monastery cloisters or climbing the town hall tower, you can feel the weight of more than a century of museum tradition dating back to 1903. Mineralogy exhibits, the history of glove-making, regional history and the story of the monastery all combine into a varied yet coherent picture of Kadaň. In summer the town comes alive with strolls past the monuments, while in winter the museum's cozy interiors offer welcome shelter from the cold.
