The Sinaia Casino is one of Romania's most striking historic buildings — a belle époque gem nestled in the heart of a celebrated mountain resort, built to rival the grandeur of Monte Carlo. Step inside and you'll find a place where royal history, world-class acoustics and Carpathian charm come together beautifully.

Set within the leafy 'Dimitrie Ghica' park, the Casino is a pleasure to approach at any time of year. In summer, the elegant façade gleams against a backdrop of deep green forest; in autumn, golden trees frame it like a painting; and in winter, snow-dusted peaks make the scene feel almost fairy-tale. The building was designed by architect Petre Antonescu and modelled on the casino in Monte Carlo — its first major shareholder, Baron Edgar de Marçay, was also an investor there. Inaugurated on 5 July 1912, it was built in under seven months at the initiative of King Carol I.

Look out for the grand piano in the concert hall — it's the very instrument on which the young George Enescu performed at the Casino's 1913 reopening, an evening attended by the royal family and Prime Minister Titu Maiorescu, and concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
