Dealul Șprenghi is a small but fascinating hill right in the heart of Brasov, where Roman-era history meets sweeping views over the Old Town. It's the kind of place where a short forest walk turns into a journey through centuries — from a Roman camp to a medieval citadel and a 19th-century quarry.

The hill is covered in woodland, with paths winding past the remains of defensive walls and an old cistern. In summer, greenery wraps around the ruined citadel, autumn leaves reveal fragments of walls nearly 1.80 m thick, and in winter the quiet stillness adds an air of mystery. At the summit stands a flagpole with the Romanian flag, visible from many parts of the city — a memorial to soldiers who died in 1916 in the nearby 'trench of death'.
