The Schwabenhaus is a cozy self-catering mountain hut in the municipality of Bürserberg, right in the heart of the Brandnertal ski area in Vorarlberg. Its convenient location makes it a great base for both summer hiking and winter activities.

The building has a long history — it started life as a farmhouse built in 1815, before the German Alpine Club's Schwaben Section purchased it in 1925. Following an expansion and later a 1988 renovation into a self-catering hut, it now offers simple, practical accommodation for hikers and skiers alike. The surrounding Tschengla plateau offers fine alpine views, and in winter the area transforms into a haven for cross-country skiers thanks to its extensive network of groomed trails.

How to reach the hut

• The hut is located at Tschengla 23 in the municipality of Bürserberg, easily reached by road
• In winter, the Einhornbahn chairlift runs from Bürserberg up to Tschengla, from where it is about a 10-minute walk to the hut
