Erben's Lookout, locally known as Erbenka, is a stone observation tower crowning a 420-metre summit right on the edge of Ústí nad Labem. Recently renovated, it now offers one of the widest, most unobstructed circular views in the region.
Perched on the ridge of Brandtova výšina, the tower sits at the meeting point of forest wilderness and city life, making it a favourite short escape for locals and a rewarding destination for hikers passing through. In summer the surrounding woods are lush and green, autumn brings golden colours across the hills, and on clear winter days visibility stretches remarkably far. It's the kind of spot where you can catch your breath, take in the view, and feel like you've truly earned it.
How to reach the lookoutThe very first tower here dates back to 1889, but wind storms and even a lightning strike destroyed several successive structures before the sturdy stone version we see today was completed in 1934.
