Děvín is a small but ecologically remarkable nature reserve in the Cheb region, tucked away near a crossroads by Milhostov. It's a place for those who appreciate quiet peat bogs and rare plant life rather than crowded trails.

The landscape is dominated by an extensive peat bog, with the gentle Lužní stream flowing through its southern part. The terrain is flat and wet, surrounded by the woodlands typical of the Cheb basin. The atmosphere shifts with the seasons - in spring and summer the bog comes alive with rare flowering plants and the calls of amphibians, while autumn and winter bring a raw, misty stillness typical of these foothill wetlands. The well-known Soos nature reserve lies just to the west, making it easy to combine both into a single outing.

How to get there

• From the road connecting Křižovatka and Milhostov — easy access, flat terrain, a short walk of a few minutes from the road
• Worth combining with a visit to the nearby Soos reserve, a short distance to the west
