Patscher Schneid is actually a trio of summits forming a dramatic ridge straddling the border between East Tyrol and South Tyrol, deep in the Rieserferner Group. This is a destination for climbers and scramblers looking for an exposed ridge adventure rather than a casual walk.

The ridge stretches between Patscher Törl and Fenneregg, with the small Rampleterkees glacier to the east and the Lenksteinferner to the west. The terrain is rugged and alpine, with sweeping views across the Rieserferner Group, and the southern flanks fall within the protected Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park. In summer the ridge demands solid scrambling skills and a head for heights, while winter conditions call for serious mountaineering experience.
