Rising to 3,358 metres, the Schneebiger Nock is the second-highest peak of the Rieserferner Group, surpassed only by the Hochgall. With its striking pyramidal shape and sharp arêtes, it stands out as one of the most rewarding viewpoints in this corner of the High Tauern.

The mountain lies within the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park in South Tyrol, surrounded by a wild high-alpine landscape of rocky ridges, glacial terrain and sweeping panoramas over the surrounding peaks. In summer it draws hikers and mountaineers seeking sweeping views, while its slopes also attract experienced ski tourers in the right winter conditions.

• Kasseler Hut (Hochgall Hut) to the northeast — demanding approach, exact timing depends on route conditions
• Rieserferner Hut to the south — alternative approach route

The Schneebiger Nock was first climbed on 6 October 1866 by Archduke Rainer Ferdinand of Austria, together with Count Heinrich Wurmbrand and local mountain guides — a fitting first ascent for one of the range's most photogenic summits.
