Chrastenský Hill (452 m above sea level) is a quiet, low-key summit in the Liberec district, tucked about 1.5 km southeast of the village of Břevniště. It's a fine pick for hikers who enjoy peaceful forest trails rather than crowded viewpoints.

The hill sits within the Ralská pahorkatina uplands, part of the Zákupská pahorkatina subregion and more specifically the Podještědská pahorkatina district. Mature forest now covers the summit, so the views are largely blocked by trees - this is a hike for those who appreciate the woodland journey itself rather than a panoramic reward. Just south of the hill, along the Ploučnice river, you'll find the scenic Chrastenský waterfall, which makes a lovely addition to any walk here. The mood of the place shifts nicely with the seasons - shady and cool in summer, colorful in autumn, and hushed and still in winter, typical of these lesser-visited hills.

How to reach the summit

• Chrastná or the Chrastná - U Potůčku junction (reachable by car via the Osečná - Břevniště road) - green-marked trail, then continue on foot southeast toward the Ploučnice river, easy difficulty
• Before reaching the river, turn left onto the path leading to the summit, which skirts around it from the south

• Just south of the hill lies the Chrastenský waterfall on the Ploučnice river, well worth combining with your visit
