Sobieszów Palace is a striking baroque residence well worth a stop on your way to Chojnik Castle or into the Karkonosze Mountains. Perched on the edge of an escarpment, it offers a first taste of the scenic views awaiting hikers above Jelenia Góra.

The building rises grandly above a former farm courtyard, surrounded by 18th and 19th century outbuildings. In spring and summer the surroundings turn lush green, while autumn wraps the palace in the warm colours of the Karkonosze foothills. It's a peaceful spot where the history of the Schaffgotsch family blends with the gentle landscape of Sobieszów — quiet, uncrowded, with the mountains always in view.

The palace was built after the 1675 fire destroyed Chojnik Castle, the ancestral seat of the Schaffgotsch family, forcing them to construct a safer new residence at the foot of the mountains.
