Right in the heart of the small town of Dubá, at a busy junction on the Prague to Česká Lípa road, stands a massive late Baroque church that is impossible to miss. Its two towers set at an angle and dramatically curved facade catch the eye long before you reach the square.

The church sits on a slight rise surrounded by an old walled cemetery with gates and stone pyramids topping the pillars, giving the whole site a slightly melancholic, atmospheric feel, especially in autumn light or at dusk. Step inside and you will find a remarkably unified Rococo interior from around 1755 - altars, pulpit and font all crafted as one harmonious set, a rare survival in this condition. It makes a worthwhile stop while exploring the Českolipsko region, where Baroque architecture meets the landscapes of the Bohemian Paradise and Kokořínsko.
