The baroque chateau at Lobeč is a quiet architectural gem on the edge of the Kokořínsko - Máchův kraj protected landscape area, where centuries of history meet peaceful countryside. Standing on a hill in the southern part of the village, the chateau and its brewery form the most striking landmarks of Lobeč, visible well before you arrive.

The surrounding countryside is classic Kokořínsko terrain — sandstone rock formations, forests and meadows that shift character with the seasons. In summer the chateau park and courtyard turn lush and green, autumn brings golden colours to the surrounding hills, and winter wraps the whole estate in a quiet, fairy-tale stillness. It is a place made for slowing down and simply taking in the view.

How to get there

• Mšeno — walking route heading northeast, approx. 30-40 minutes, easy difficulty
• By car directly to the village of Lobeč, followed by a short uphill walk to the chateau

• The chateau is privately owned and operates as a guesthouse/hotel
• The park surrounding the chateau is freely accessible to visitors
• A cellar carved into the rock beneath the chateau now serves as a wine cellar

Interesting fact: the rock-cut cellar beneath the chateau is probably the only surviving trace of the original medieval fortress on whose foundations the later baroque chateau was built.
