The Batthyány Mansion in Bicske is one of Hungary's finest aristocratic residences, set within an 11-hectare English-style park - one of the first of its kind in the country. This is a place where the history of great noble families intertwines with tales of a failed attempt to restore the last Habsburg emperor to the throne.

The U-shaped, two-story building with 64 rooms showcases late Baroque and early Classicist architecture. Strolling through the park with its bridges, grotto, and remnants of the old greenhouse is a pleasure in any season - in spring and summer the mature trees create a unique microclimate, while in autumn the park glows with color.

How to get there

• Bicske town center - on foot, approx. 10-15 minutes, easy route
• Accessible by car or train to Bicske station, followed by a short walk

Fun fact: in 1921 a guest room was prepared here for Queen Zita during King Charles IV's attempt to reclaim the throne, but the royal couple ultimately stayed elsewhere, fearing the Batthyány name would be linked to their failure.
