The E10 is part of an epic 2,850 km European long-distance trail, and this 85.6 km stretch through northern Bohemia offers a wonderful mix of sandstone landscapes, castles and quiet forest paths. It's a great choice for hikers who enjoy history layered into their scenery.

Entering the Czech Republic from Germany, the trail heads south past Varnsdorf, Nový Bor, Česká Lípa, Doksy and Bezděz, continuing toward the Kokořínsko region and Mělník. It follows existing red-marked KČT trails, with the E10 symbol added at the top of trail signposts. Along the way, hikers pass sandstone rock towns, castle ruins and river valleys, including the scenic Peklo valley near Česká Lípa and the area around Lake Mácha. Part of the route follows the historic Mácha's Trail (Máchova cesta).

• Moderate difficulty - no technical climbing sections, but the overall distance calls for decent stamina.
• Varied terrain: forest paths, rocky stretches near Bezděz and Kokořínsko, and gentler valley sections.

• Marked with red KČT trail signs, topped with the E10 symbol.
• Sections overlap with the historic Mácha's Trail and former regional routes 0345, 0354 and 0334.
• Well connected by public transport via towns like Česká Lípa and Doksy.

Interestingly, within the Czech Republic the E10 crosses paths with the E3 trail near Jedlová in the Lusatian Mountains - a rare spot where two great European routes actually meet.
