Rumiska Przełączka is one of the wildest and most inaccessible notches in the High Tatras — a deep rocky cleft that sparks the imagination of every serious mountain enthusiast. Wedged between the Eastern Iron Peak and the Poprad Ice Peak, this dramatic gap lies far beyond any marked trail, reserved for those with genuine alpine experience.

The notch cuts deep into the surrounding rock massifs, creating a raw and dramatic high-mountain landscape. From the col, views open northward toward Kačacia Valley and southward toward the rocky wilderness of Zlomiska. In winter the terrain becomes particularly serious — coated in ice and snow, demanding full alpine equipment and skills. In spring and autumn the bare rock takes on rich, textured tones that only amplify the sense of remoteness and wildness of this extraordinary place.

• Important: there are no marked tourist trails leading to Rumiska Przełączka. Access is possible only as part of a technical alpine climb, with appropriate experience and equipment. The northern side descends toward Kačacia Valley; the southern side leads to Zlomiska.

• This location is suitable for experienced alpinists only — no tourist trails exist.

A fascinating piece of history: the notch was first climbed on 10 August 1904 by Stanisław Krygowski, guide Jan Bachleda Tajber, and porter Franciszek Leśniak — the trio who gave it its original name, 'Krygowski's Notch'.
