Pośredni Gerlach (2642 m a.s.l.) is one of the most striking rocky towers in the entire Tatra range — a proud, rugged pinnacle reserved exclusively for experienced climbers. Although technically a subsidiary summit within the Gerlach massif, its altitude places it firmly among the highest points in the Slovak High Tatras.

The peak rises between the main summit of Gerlach (2655 m) and Malý Gerlach (2601 m), separated from them by the mountain passes known as the Upper and Middle Gerlach Gates. Its massive north-eastern face plunges dramatically toward Velická Valley, forming one of the most breathtaking rock walls in this part of the Tatras. The south-eastern side is considerably less steep, descending toward the upper section of Karczmarz Gully, while the Batizovský Gully leads down toward Batizovská Valley. In winter and early spring the massif is draped in snow and ice, adding both beauty and serious challenge to any attempt.

• Pośredni Gerlach has no marked tourist trails — the summit is accessible only via climbing routes, suitable for experienced mountaineers with proper equipment.

The name 'Pośredni' simply means 'intermediate' in Polish, reflecting the peak's position between Gerlach and Malý Gerlach — while the Slovak name Gerlachovská veža translates as 'Gerlach Tower', perfectly capturing its sharp, tower-like silhouette.
