Perched at 788 metres above sea level in the Ore Mountains of northwest Bohemia, the Jeřabina lookout tower is a charming little gem that rewards visitors with sweeping views across three very different landscapes. Whether you come for the panorama, the fresh mountain air, or a taste of local history, this freely accessible tower delivers on all fronts.

From the viewing platform you can take in the forested ridges of the Ore Mountains, the dramatic volcanic hills of the Bohemian Central Highlands, and the wide industrial basin around Most. The setting changes beautifully with the seasons — lush and green in summer, golden and misty in autumn, and blanketed in silence under winter snow. The tower stands in a peaceful forest clearing, roughly 100 metres from a minor road, giving it a genuinely off-the-beaten-track feel.

The first wooden tower here was opened on 9 October 1884 — it was later destroyed by a storm, rebuilt in 1929, and finally restored in 2009 in the spirit of that interwar design. Three lives for one tower, and well worth it.
