The Bedřichov Reservoir is the highest-situated dam in the Jizera Mountains, a scenic body of water held back by an impressive stone dam on the Černá Nisa river. It's a peaceful spot where forested hills meet still water - perfect for a relaxing walk, a picnic, or a short cycling detour.

The crest of the dam sits at 775.26 m above sea level, stretching 340 m long and standing 23.5 m high - an impressive structure that still blends naturally into the surrounding landscape. In summer the shores draw hikers, cyclists and anglers, while autumn paints the surrounding forests in gold and red. In winter, the frozen surface and quiet snowy woods create a serene, almost wild atmosphere. The reservoir is also a great starting point for longer hikes and bike rides through the Jizera Mountains.

The dam was built between 1902 and 1909 following a devastating flood in 1897, designed by Professor Otto Intze - over a century later, it still serves its original purpose of flood protection.
