Tüttensee is a small glacial lake in the Bavarian Chiemgau region, known for its strikingly turquoise water and peaceful, scenic surroundings. It's one of the warmest lakes in Upper Bavaria, making it a favorite spot for a relaxed lakeside break.

The shoreline has a bog-like character with several stages of natural vegetation, changing with the seasons - lush wetland plants in summer, colorful forest views in autumn. The lake sits in a kettle hole formed as the Chiemsee glacier retreated, surrounded by fully forested kame gravel terraces. A lakeside restaurant with a bathing area sits on the southern shore, while the rest of the shoreline remains quiet and protected.

The lake was first surveyed by boat in the early 20th century, and later pollen analysis and radiocarbon dating confirmed its glacial origin - ruling out a once-popular theory that it was formed by a meteorite impact.
