Strašínská Cave is a hidden underground gem in the Klatovy district of Bohemia — the only significant natural cave within the Sušice-Strakonice limestone system. Step inside and you will find a spacious underground hall, a mysterious pool, and a ceiling decorated with unusual bowl- and pot-shaped hollows unlike anything you have seen before.

The cave sits less than one kilometre west-northwest of the village of Strašín, just off road II/171 towards Rozsedel. From the entrance, the cave slopes down into a hall measuring 23 metres long, 12 metres wide and up to 3 metres high, ending in a small lake. Several side passages branch off from the main chamber, bringing the total mapped length to around 200 metres. What makes this cave truly special is the absence of classic stalactites and stalagmites — instead, the ceiling is adorned with fascinating concave bowl- and pot-shaped depressions, the result of unusual geological processes.

• The cave is currently closed to visitors until further notice.
• It was open to the public for an entry fee from 2012 — check current status before visiting.
