Městišťské rokle is a small but remarkable nature reserve tucked into the Šumava landscape near the village of Čachrov. It's a place for those who love quiet corners of untouched nature, wetlands and gentle forested slopes far from the crowds.

The reserve consists of two separate sections located in the spring area of the Jelenka stream and its tributaries, south of the village of Městiště and east-northeast of Hojsova Stráž. The landscape is shaped by peat bogs, wet streamside meadows and natural forests covering the soft hills of the Šumava region. In spring and summer the area comes alive with lush wetland vegetation, autumn brings rich forest colors, and in winter the terrain can be harder to access due to snow and moisture - so extra caution is advised.

How to get there

• From Čachrov - local trail, walking time depends on the chosen route, easy to moderate difficulty
• From Hojsova Stráž - approach from the east-northeast side, terrain of varied character
