Tucked away near the town of Nové Strašecí, this small nature reserve offers a peaceful escape into a rare wetland habitat. Na Novém rybníce Nature Monument was established in 1990 to protect a boggy meadow with exceptionally rare flora.

The heart of the reserve is the Novostrašecký pond, surrounded by waterlogged meadows and alder groves in the floodplain of the Klíčava stream. Lesser duckweed floats on the water's surface, while common reed and broadleaf cattail line the shores. The character of the place shifts dramatically with the seasons — spring and early summer bring a flush of rare wetland flowers, while autumn colors the meadows with the delicate blooms of autumn crocus. It's a quiet, contemplative spot, perfect for nature lovers and anyone with an eye for botany.
