The Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park is a rewarding hiking destination tucked into the Lower Silesia region of southwestern Poland, where forested ridges, striking rock formations and quiet valleys come together in one compact area. Spread across three mountain ranges just south of the city of Wałbrzych, it offers something for every level of walker — from easy forest strolls to more demanding ridge trails.

The park covers the central part of the Kamienne Mountains with the Lesista Range (851 m), the western part of the Suche Mountains crowned by Waligóra (936 m — the park's highest point), and the eastern edge of the Wałbrzych Mountains around the Borowa massif (854 m). The landscape is dominated by dense forests broken by remarkable natural rock monuments — unique rocky formations protected as nature monuments. Each season brings its own mood: spring fills the woods with birdsong, summer offers cool shade on the trails, autumn turns the hillsides into a canvas of gold and amber, and winter wraps everything in a peaceful silence that feels worlds away from the nearby city.

• The park was established in 1998 and covers 6,493 ha, with a buffer zone of 2,894 ha.
• There are no nature reserves within the park, but several dozen nature monuments protect unique rock formations.
• The park borders the Czech protected landscape area CHKO 'Broumovsko' to the south, making cross-border hiking possible.

One of the park's most fascinating natural curiosities is the river capture of the Rybna stream — through headward erosion it 'hijacked' the upper course of the Ścinawka river and now flows through a dramatic gorge valley towards the Bystrzyca. It's a rare hydrological phenomenon and a wonderful highlight to look out for on any walk in the area.
