Hüttenbach is a small but charming nature reserve in Saxony, right next to the Czech border. It's a place for those seeking peace away from the crowds - a quiet stretch of forest and stream valley where nature has been left to develop largely undisturbed for over three decades.

The reserve lies southwest of Klingenthal and south of the Zwota district, set in landscape typical of the Ore Mountains - gently rolling, forested, and crossed by small streams. The Zwota river flows nearby, and the state border with the Czech Republic runs not far to the east. The area is rich in similarly protected land, neighboring the Zauberwald and Landesgemeinde reserves, making this corner of the Vogtland a true cluster of valuable nature. In spring and summer the forest is full of life, in autumn it glows with color, and in winter, once snow covers the paths, a special stillness settles over these border woodlands of the Ore Mountains.

How to get there

• From Klingenthal or the Zwota district - on foot or by bike, easy to moderate route, time depending on the chosen path
• Alternatively from the B 283 road running north of the area
