Wielka Szarpana Turnia is a jagged, dramatic peak reaching around 2348-2364 m, tucked into the south-eastern ridge of Wysoka in the Slovak part of the High Tatras. It's the tallest of the three Szarpane Turnie towers, and its torn, rugged silhouette is exactly where its name comes from.

This is high alpine terrain in the truest sense - jagged rock formations, dramatic ridgelines, and views that stretch across some of the wildest corners of the High Tatras. The area separating it from Smocza Kopka to the north-west is the saddle called Szarpana Przełączka, while the Wyżnia Szarpana Szczerbina notch divides it from Pośrednia Szarpana Turnia to the south-east. The atmosphere here is raw and untamed year-round, with a true high-mountain character that only serious alpine terrain can offer.

• No marked hiking trails lead to the summit - access is reserved exclusively for experienced climbers using technical mountaineering routes

• There are no marked tourist trails to the top - this peak is accessible only to climbers with proper alpine climbing skills and equipment

The German and Hungarian names (Dubketurm, Dubke-torony) honor Ernst Dubke, one of the first climbers to reach the summit back in 1907 - a small piece of alpine history embedded right into the mountain's name.
