Magura Hulszczańska is one of those Bieszczady peaks that rewards effort with silence and solitude rather than crowds. With no marked trails leading to the top, only those truly seeking the wilder side of the Western Bieszczady Mountains make their way here.

The peak belongs to a ridge running northeast from Smerek, right in the heart of the polonina (mountain meadow) range. The slopes are almost entirely forested, with clearings appearing only west of the summit and on nearby passes, offering glimpses of the surrounding hills. Just southwest of the summit runs the border between Bieszczady National Park and Dolina Sanu Landscape Park, underlining the untamed character of this place. In spring and summer the forest is alive with growth, autumn brings striking colours to the meadows, and winter turns the area into a quiet, snowy realm best tackled by experienced hikers.
