Szare Berdo (1108 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, unhurried summit in the heart of the Western Bieszczady mountains — the lowest peak in the Połonina Wetlińska massif, yet full of character and charm. If you enjoy places off the beaten track where you can catch your breath and soak in views of neighbouring peaks, this gentle ridge is the perfect spot.

The ridge of Szare Berdo runs softly in a WNW–ESE direction, making the walk along it pleasant and undemanding. The summit is framed by a belt of forest that separates the alpine meadows around Smerek and the Orłowicz Pass from the main Połonina Wetlińska to the east. Scattered clearings break up the treeline, and the narrow strip of open ridge offers lovely views of Smerek and Osadzki Wierch. Spring brings vivid green meadows, summer is perfect for a leisurely ridge walk, and autumn transforms the surroundings into a warm palette of gold and rust.
