Krúpová is a modest but rewarding summit in the Skorušinské vrchy range, rising above the settlement of Oravice. Its treeless top, covered in mountain meadow, opens up a full circular view - a rare treat for such a low-key peak.

What makes Krúpová special is the openness of its summit - unlike many forested peaks in the area, here you get uninterrupted views across the surrounding hills, the Western Tatras, part of the Oravské Beskydy, and even into Poland. In summer the meadow invites a relaxed break with a view, while in winter the western slopes come alive with the Meander Skipark Oravice ski resort. It's a quiet, unspoiled spot most of the year, with the kind of views that feel earned even though the climb is short.

How to reach the summit

• No marked trail leads directly to the summit - access is via forest paths from the surrounding area or along ski slope routes, moderate difficulty
• The nearest yellow-marked trail runs south along the ridge to the Vyšné diely junction, from where the summit is reachable, continuing on to Oravická Magura
