Borsučie is a quiet, unassuming peak in the Orava Beskids, tucked into a side ridge that branches off from the massif of Malá Babia hora. This is a spot for hikers who enjoy off-the-beaten-path routes, since no marked trail leads directly to the summit - reaching it means following forest paths through peaceful woodland.
The summit area is covered in patchy forest, which limits continuous views, but from open spots without tall vegetation you can spot the surrounding Silesian and Żywiec Beskids, Malá Fatra, Oravská Magura, the Chočské and Skorušinské hills, and even the Low and High Tatras. In winter the forest takes on a hushed, wintry stillness, while in summer it offers welcome shade along the way.
How to get to the summitBorsučie rewards those who prefer solitude and want to explore a lesser-known corner of the Orava Beskids, away from the region's more popular peaks.
