Jaworzyna is a peak defined by its remarkable location right on the Polish-Slovak border, sitting exactly on the Great European Watershed. It's a rewarding destination for hikers who enjoy ridge walking with a real sense of crossing an invisible line between two countries.

The slopes descending toward Slovakia, into the Polhoranka valley, are entirely forested, offering cool shade in summer and vibrant colors in autumn. On the Polish side, the ridge splits into two arms separated by the Przyborowiec stream valley — now also wooded, though old maps once showed open meadows and farmland here. It's worth imagining how different this landscape looked just a few decades ago. Winters bring quiet, austere beauty, while summer offers a peaceful forest trek away from the crowds.

How to reach the summit

• Glinne Pass — red trail (Main Beskid Trail), moderate ridge route toward Mędralowa and Babia Góra
• Korbielów — black trail via Krzyżówki, passing below the summit toward Magurka

Practical information

• The summit lies directly on the Polish-Slovak border, with a parallel blue trail running on the Slovak side
• The Transbeskidian Horse Trail also crosses the ridge here

Fun fact: Jaworzyna is one of the few peaks where rain falling on one side of the ridge ends up in a different sea than rain falling on the other — a direct effect of the Great European Watershed passing through here.
